Tim Wiley is married to wife, Keri, and is a proud parent of two children; son, Brendan age 8, daughter, Reagan age 3 and dog Sergeant. Tim and his family reside in the City of St. Clair where they are parishioners of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Tim’s career in law enforcement began at age 20 while he was serving as one of Michigan’s youngest elected officials. He was voted to a public school board in August of 1998. Tim served a 4 year term on the Anchor Bay Board of Education and helped the school district pass several successful bond issues that included the construction of numerous elementary schools and one of Michigan’s largest high schools that is located in St. Clair County. Tim has dedicated his life to serving the community since age 19 when an overwhelming amount of supporters in both Macomb and St. Clair Counties voted him into the office of Trustee to the Board of Education.

Tim is currently serving as a Detective for the City of New Baltimore, a city that borders St. Clair County, where he has recently been assigned to the I.C.A.C. (Internet Crimes against Children) Regional Task Force that incorporates members from federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies including the U.S. Secret Service. Tim had formerly dedicated his time during the boating season as a Marine Deputy Sheriff employed by the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office. His assigned duties while serving on the Marine Division included, general patrol of St. Clair County waterways, wide-ranging investigations, search and rescue / recovery efforts and volunteering at community oriented policing at public events to help promote a safe and sober boating environment; such events include the Detroit Boat Show at Cobo Hall and Safety Town at Metro Beach.

During Tim’s tenure at the New Baltimore Police Department he has served as a Detective, F.T.O. (Field Training Officer), S.R.O. (School Resource Officer), Road Patrol Officer, Mt. Bicycle Officer, and a Community Policing Officer. Tim has earned several department awards / honors including multiple Lifesaving citations, M.A.D.D. (Mothers against Drunken Driving) Award, and Merit / Service Awards for Narcotic related arrests. Tim has served on various investigative teams involving major cases that have consisted of double homicides, sexual crimes against children / adults, and stolen automobiles.

Tim obtained his Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2001 and his Masters Degree in Public Administration (M.P.A.) from Central Michigan University in 2007. Tim has also had a successful teaching experience for New Haven Community Schools within their alternative education program. He is committed to working towards becoming a “Career Sheriff” of St. Clair County that embraces a “Proactive Community Oriented Policing Approach”. Tim has concentrated his higher education towards the field of Public Administration to better obtain an understanding of how to effectively and efficiently lead the Sheriff’s Office into the future while enhancing policing services that are provided to the community under challenging economic times.
